The Eucharist in me

Letter of St. Paul to the Corinthians — “Because the loaf of bread is one, we though many, are one body, for we all partake of the one loaf.” 1 Cor 10:17

That day, it seemed as though I belonged. All those people, there must have been two thousand, and I had joined in a special way. We were part of God.

At the same time, as I looked on the mural of Jesus Christ over the tabernacle at St. John Bosco, I loved Him and felt His love in return. He and I were joined so intimately that I wanted to cry. I understood that regardless of what happened in the world, danger, peril, nakedness, death, there would be no more shame for me because He would be with me, body and soul.

Since then, much has happened and I doubt that anyone understands, but it always feels that special. When I receive communion, it always feels that precious and new.
